We went through the same thing with Jake including the ultrasound and elevated liver levels. He is on Urisidiol and it fixed him right up! So, don't worry (too much- I know how we CF moms are). Good luck, Lisa

liver issues?

Yes. My son had high liver enzymes when he was a baby. Urisidiol helped bring them down to normal. His numbers have been normal ever since.

I am trying to find out more about this liver involvement as well...just wondering if anyone has noticed any yellowing of their children's skin?? Every time my little on goes to the doctors the RN asks if he eats a lot of orange veggies, and it is quite the opposite....We are still working on finding out what is wrong with our son but there seems to be more and more puzzle pieces that fit CF.

My liver problems were found when I was 14 or 15 through a liver biopsy. I had some elevated liver numbers for a while and was on Actigal for it, which really didn't seem to help me. I had cirrhosis of the liver and portal hypertension (high blood pressure in the liver). It was also later found that I had varices (enlarged blood vessels in the esophagus caused by the liver). These are all the reasons that I had to have a liver transplant when I had the lung transplant.
