Ugh! A couple weeks ago I took in our Devilbiss Pulmoaide Compressor because treatment times increased, psi declined and it got louder. Done this twice before. Machine is under a 5-year warranty. Unlike with Pari, the manufacturer requires us to take it to the local DME, they package it up and ship it to the company to look at.
Get to the DME and am treated rudely by the customer service rep who tells me I don't have a prescription, I didn't BUY the machine from them, we don't have an account with them -- we do with their clinic plus I've dealt with them in the past --- they don't carry that brand (they do), and therefore insurance won't cover a loaner machine. Shouldn't make a difference where I bought it and it's none of her business, but we spent 6 weeks out of town when DS was first diagnosed, so our neb machines were obtained elsewhere. Plus didn't need a loaner we have spare(s) for just such an issue.
Grudgingly got her to take the machine after being told it probably wasn't covered, that I'd have to pay for any shipping charges incurred -- something I'd never had to do before, but whatever. Mfg policy is that the DME has to handle the machine. Last week I get a call saying to come pick up the machine, it's not covered under the warranty.
Pick it up yesterday and look at the back of the machine and realize it was built in 2009. So it's only 3 years old. So I email the mfg and they say, yes, it IS covered under the warranty. Ugh! Nothing like driving out of my way several times to wait in line, be treated rudely by customer service reps. Yea! Sending in the loud german aka dh to deal with this stuff. And he enjoys a good argument.
