Locked up...

Would anyone care to entertain me? Any fun websites, activities, etc? We could all share and keep this around as a resource to try to make hospital time a little less miserable...

What a good idea! This should be a permanent thread, just for people (like me) who frequent the site but aren't total pros on being in the hospital for long periods of time.

If you're into facebook, I highly suggest checking failbook.com and lamebook.com out. They kept me laughing for hours this last hospital stay. If you're not on facebook, JOIN FACEBOOK! Haha. I've actually found a ton of mindless games through fb (NOT farmville). I'm talking bejeweled, family feud, tetris, etc. They're stupid and some are so easy they get boring REALLY fast, but they pass the time.

Bubblebox.com is a site of nothing but free games...games you don't have to download or mess your computer up with (if the hospital allows access to that one). There are stupid ones, really hard ones, puzzle/skill, kids games, the works!

Are you an animal lover? Actinglikeanimals.com and dailysquee.com are pretty cute and funny. Pics/videos of animals doing funny things (I'm a huge nerd).

Because I'm in the hospital, and usually feeling INCREDIBLY lonely, I tend to read other CFers blogs. A lot of them. A hospital stay is what got me reading nate lawrenson's blog (tricia) and I've kept up with it ever since. I've found it's a way to pass the time without feeling as alone and isolated as one usually can get being in the slammer.

That's all I have right now, sorry if those kind of stink, lol. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Big hugs going your way...I sure know how you feel, as does anyone who is tossed into the clinker.
First of all, it is absolutely necessary to have wireless or some sort of internet to survive an admission. The computer is my lifeline, keeps me in touch with everyone, especially when I am having difficult days.
I watch movies, lots of them...a subscription to Netflix has saved my sanity many times over.
Playing card games, or any games for that matter helps pass the time.
I am currently in, have been for 3 weeks now and expect to be in for at least another week...good coping skills and wonderful, over the top staff have had a huge part in this hospitalization.
Hang in there, I am usually online if you want to chat or PM me..sometimes simply reaching out is enough for those moments of isolation etc....

Hugs, Jenn

Thanks guys. Project Free TV (search it on google) is great for movies too, the quality isn't always great but they have pretty much every newer movie (in the past couple of years) available to stream for free. I was hooked on bejeweled for awhile but then my computer decided it didn't like the new updates they made. Let's keep this going!

Full seasons of TV shows on DVD. Check your library for free "rentals" if you are sick of your own.

Also, I always bring a deck of cards. It gives me something to do when people visit (or with any bored RTs while I'm doing the vest). Also, solitaire takes much longer when you have to shuffle and deal cards.
