my high calorie french toast recipe-I'm really trying to gain weight too since I lost so much while I was sick. My mil just gave me this recipe-
2 slices bread (i use whole wheat but white tastes really good), spread cream cheese between them to form a cream cheese sandwich, dip in 1 egg beaten and really saturate to get as much of the egg in that you can (extra protein)-the egg batter I flavor with 1/2 tsp vanilla and my mil puts 2 tbls sugar in too but I'm watching my sugars. Melt butter in skillet and put in french toast, 4-5 mins per side on low heat to get the cream cheese warm and gooey. Top with butter and maple syrup- YUMMY!!!!!! This is SOO good and has 590 calories and 14 grams of protein (the wheat bread has more protein), not including the maple syrup if you add it-Aunt Jemima's has 200 calories in 1/4 cup.

forgot-
I didn't include the egg in the protein amount, so its even higher. And, I put at least 6 tablespoons of cream cheese on it. Pile it on! (my mil said its yummy if you add jelly inside or on top too, or fresh strawberries)
