Lucy's CF Test Results

Hey you all!

Wow...it has been an incredibly busy two weeks with our move to Warner Robins and our trip to the mountains....but it has been worth it. We are getting settled-in in our townhouse and we are are adjusting to having only 1/2 the space. We are a little on top of each other, but there were several rooms in the old place that we just didn't use.

Ok, now to the GOOD stuff...

Lucy's results came back while we were in north Georgia and she is a R117H - 7T carrier. This is a tremendous relief for me and Dave and keeps me from stressing out about her. Now, if I can just keep her from falling down the stairs, we'll be in good shape.

Abby's arrival is still scheduled for August 11. No ultrasound sign of intestinal blockages so we will be delivering in our "usual" hospital. So far, we have been really fortunate, so I hope that this year at home will be one of preventative care and just keeping her away from colds and the like to build up her immune system.

Thank you all for thinking about us. I'm glad to be back here!

Good to read that you are settling in your new home. Good
luck and I hope you have lots of happiness there.
How wonderful to read that Lucy is only a carrier of cf.
And also it's super to read that Abby's
ultrasounds shows no sign of intestinal blockages. You
certainly did have good news to share with us.
Congratulations all around.
August 11 will be here before you know it. It is so exciting
awaiting the arrival of a child. I hope your delivery is a
smooth one. All the best to you. We will be waiting for
pictures!
Wonderful news about Lucy! Now you can kick back and wait for Abby to arrive and see what kind of trouble Lucy will get into after the baby is born. Hmmm! I'm sure she'll keep you on your toes. Liza

I had an OB appointment today and now Abby's scheduled arrival is on August 7. Apparently, she is growing VERY well and my doctor doesn't want me to be more uncomfortable than I have to be.

I would have to say that all of that sounds like a plan to me!

Janet,

We had carrier testing done and when we found out we were both carriers, we decided to have an amnio done. We found out the 3rd week in May that Abby would have some form of CF. Luckily we've had some time to prepare and we are looking at the early knowledge as a blessing for our child! :)

Risa,

Thanks! I enjoy writing. I just don't have enough time. I'm hoping that while staying at home this next year I can carve out some time that is my writing time. Thanks again!!! :)
