Funny you should bring that up Amy...

Three years ago I went to the ER because I thought I was having a heart attack. I had chest pain and I could so feel my heart beating fast! Well they put an IV when I got there and they told me it was Magnesium to stable my heart rate. Also they mentioned that i needed to add more Potassium to my diet. Well my question is "Was my Magnesium being low a result of my CF?" or "What causes Magnesium to go low?" You know i never asked these questions? I just thought that had nothing to do with my CF.

most CFers have absorption issues and i think that's why many are low in magnesium. and why many are suseptable to PA infections. i think research is just beginning on this. that's why i ran out to get my magnesium level tested as rao told me that it's never tested in our annual panel

It also plays a role in how well Pulmozyme works.
