malaise/body soreness

just wondered if anyone gets this. i've had it in the last several months and i don't remember having it before then. i don't know if it is my body fighting off a virus when i have no other symptoms, or what? it tends to be mostly around my neck and shoulders but spreads down my back and arms, too. i have noticed it tends to coincide with times when my body is stressed or not getting enough sleep.

thoughts?

Yup, I have been dealing with this for the past several months as well. My body hurts... It hurts so bad that the weight of my own body laying in bed at night wakes me up..

Mine is always exacerbated by not enough rest or sleep... and when I am fighting an infection....

I am seriously considering finding a Chiropractor to see if it will bring some relief to me... I am also trying to get massages twice a month, they help me a lot.

I am maxed out on advil and I am afraid that between the steroids and doses of advil that I am going to get a GI bleed...

Hope you feel better

Get a chiropractor. Not sure it will heal this problem but it has done wonders for me. My lung function actually declines if I don't see mine monthly. Do I need any other reason? Oh and I have no aches and pains either like I did when I was a teen. I have been seeing a chiro. monthly since 1998.

I often get lots of aches and pains which seem to get worse when I have an infection. I've never really considered seeing a chiropractor before but after reading these posts, I think I'll look into it!

btw, LouLou - I was just wondering whether you've had your baby or are still pregnant, as your sig says you are "expecting" but due in 2006??

so it sounds like this is related to stress or infection. great. lol.

i am not opposed to the chiro idea. the thing is, these episodes usually don't last very long...they seem to go away on their own. also (and this means a lot coming from me because i LOVE back rubs or massages) i can't imagine someone rubbing my back right now. ouch!

do you guys think this could be my body's responce to a virus? i mean, with flu you get this feeling. so could this be like a little bit of the flu? ironically, the last time i was feeling like this was when (before) i got my flu shot in november.

by the way, i love the name LauraLou! my friend calls me that sometime...

My chiropractor saved my sanity! In late October my back started really bothering me at work. I couldn't even tolerate standing up straight. After 2 weeks of this I had enough. I went to the chiro. and what a difference! He did x-rays and it turns out that one of the vertebre in the middle of my back had shifted forward (toward my stomach) and a couple others had shifted to one side or the other. There were a couple vertebre in my neck that had twisted and my neck didn't have the curve that its supposed to when you see it from the side view. After 3 adjustments I made through a whole shift with no pain! I have gone to him almost everyday for 2 months, I just wished I could have taken him to New York with me!
