Male Cf'ers.....have you taken the test?

i was wondering if any male Cf'ers on here have taken the test to weather or not they were sterile?? could i take this test when i go for my next checkup?? thanx~Jim

well i think you may have to make an appt to have the test or call and ask before you go in to take the test. it requires you to...well uh...do what guys do and make your deposit in a cup so it can be looked at and counted to see what you got in the bank. thats as nice as i can put it. at our clinic they usually ask the males if they want to take the test at a certain age...usually over 18 since your an adult....and if you want to take it you take it. a friend of mine was asked to take the test while he was in for a tune up but he decided to wait till he was ready for kids.

I have had alot of unprotected sex with about ten woman. So far, no calls asking for child support, so I'm guessing that I am sterile.

I have a son, and I know of at least 5 more males with CF who have children<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

At age 18, just to be safe, I had a sperm count done. It is a pretty straight forward microscopic assesment of one's ejaculate. Seemingly, if I had owned a microscope, I could have done it at home. As suspected, I am spermatically bankrupt. It saved me the hassle of a vasectomy.

Aren't there over the counter sterility tests available? I saw one in Shopko in a small town - it was like $30.

I'm female so I had no reason to purchase, so I don't know more than what I wrote.

like another person said- the lack of calls for child support is all the proof I need<img src="i/expressions/beer.gif" border="0">
