match.com?

Though I have never used match.com I have tried the whole online dating thing. The biggest piece of advice is virus protection, does not work in person. Learned that one the hard way, luckily they had cream for that.

Ok, on a slightly more serious note, I say go for it. Like I am sure many posters previous to me have said (tho im not sure, to lazy to read all the replies) be safe about it. The amount of desperate men out there on the net has to be unreal. Good luck with the dating thing, no pain no gain remember that.

I say go for it too -- but one more word of caution... many people send a lot of emails, chat online or talk on the phone quite a bit before meeting in person -- that sometimes can make you feel like you "know" that person more than you really do, but you still have no other outside source of information for who he is, besides what he has told you. Just just keep that in mind when you do decide to meet somewhere not so public the 2nd or 3rd time, or get picked up in his car etc. By the time you get around to those types of things, hopefully you have met a co-worker, friend or family member that will give you something else to go off of.... your gut instinct will probably be right.

I have often thought about this scenario (though highly unlikely, still quite possible):

Chick or guy with CF wants to use a dating service like match.com or the many others. He/she either makes an ad or answers one. They meet a decent person and start a relationship. There are tons of making out/swapping a ton of saliva etc. The other person also has CF. Both people don't want to bring up their disease to the other person, because they each think the other person is "normal/doesn't have CF". Meanwhile for this several month awkward period, they are both infecting each other with their vastly different lung bugs.

Just imagine how bad that would suck. You meet someone you really like, and you have mild CF with say a fairly weak form of pseudo, and only that. Due to making out with them for a period of time, you contract their MRSA and cepacia!! As I said, highly unlikely I suppose...But still a very possible scenario.
