Hey I read Emily's post about how her boyfriend wears her old bracelets (cute and funny) and I was wondering if anyone else wears a bracelets too?? I've been looking for a cool one but I can't find one.
Thanks to everybody who sent me a pic for my benefit. I can still use some more!

Hehee. He wears my old necklace. But I do wear a bracelet. I use the ones that have what looks like a watch band. The stretchy type. Those are the ones I've worn since roughly 6th grade. They're not the cutest things in the world, but I wasn't looking for cute. I was looking for something easy to take on and off, and that wouldn't fall off, and the watch bands do the trick.

I actually got mine at a little jeweler in my town in Connecticut. It's a family-owned place that my family has always gone to for anything we needed in that area. They carry a little booklet of different types of alerts, how much they cost, etc, and then the jeweler will engrave the alert once it comes in if you so choose. But I imagine you can find them at many jewelers, and probably even online.

I wear one too... I don't think there are any that look "cool" though. You can usually find brochures for them in doctor's offices or pharmacies; also try mecicalert.com

I found some sweet ones tonight. After looking around my friend and I found the perfect one for me. It's leather cuff (brown or black) that have the silver part with the med sign snap into it. It's really sweet and rock n roll..all of my info will be on the back of the silver plate. You guys should check them out. A 23 year guy with diabetes designed them and they are sweet. I think they're called "Life Wear Bracelets...?"

I went to the medical alert site. They have a lot of really cute ones. I am wondering how much stuff can you fit on those? Do you usually put your address too or number?

The watch band one I have actually opens up. On the top of it it says "Emily" and on the back it says "cystic fibrosis." Then, on the inside there's a piece of water-proof paper with a whole mess of my information on it (meds, docs, phone number, address, emergency contact). Also, with the band, came a little card to fill out and put in your wallet.

Believe it or not, your local "Avon Lady" may be able to help. I bought a diabetic one from Avon & it has 2 cute interchangeable bracelets you can attach to the medic alert. If any of you have CFRD, you could get one of these & have CF engraved on it too. I think they also have blank ones that you could have engraved w/ just CF too.
I'll try to find them online & post the address on this thread.

Hello, I design jewelry and I have a son with CF. I never even thought about a med alert bracelet for CF, that's awesome!!! I'd love to design one and would like to hear any suggestions on what you think would look good, what info should be on it, etc.... That leather cuff one sounds cool. I designed a 65 Roses bracelet, benefitting the CF foundation and have been real successful with it, and I think adding a med alert bracelet to my CF jewelry line would be great. I'd love to hear anyones ideas.
