We tried to get Reece's files too the social worker at the cloinic had us sign papers & sent us just his clinic visits. She said we had to go down to the registrstion office to get hosptial reports. Why is it soooo hard to get info on your on child yes we know some of it we wont understand but when we have a ques. about it well come find you. And this business of paying for the file, that is crazy. We still have NEVER got his hosptial records its too confusing of where to go and who to talk to

ask our docs. We tried to get Reeces' records & our social worker had us sign some papers & all we got were the clinic visits. AND they were'nt even all of them. Why do we have to pay to get the info thats about our own kids??? It just makes me soooo mad that there is'nt an easier way.

Thanks, I love the name Cambree as well and it is very fitting for our rambunxious daughter. As for getting the info. It is very annoying and I really don't understand why it is such a big deal. Good luck though I hope you are successful.

I don't agree with the fact that you have to pay either, but if you break it down, many businesses would go broke copying medical records if they didn't charge for them. There's the cost of paper, the cost of toner or ink cartridges and the time that staff members take to copy the record and then put it back together. Copying medical records, especially thick ones, are no easy task. So although the fact that it costs $$$$$$ sucks, I understand the reasoning behind it.

By law, the doctor/medical record copier has only 30 days to get you your requested and paid for (if payment is required) records, or they must send you a REASONABLE explanation of why they haven't sent you your record yet within that 30 day period. Any more than 30 days is a misdemeanor punishable by $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
