Medical Transport Plane Crashes

Please say a prayer for the families of everyone involved in this tragedy.

Today at about 4:00, a plane leaving Milwaukee, headed back to the University of Michigan crashed into Lake Michigan. It was transporting several organs, including a set of lungs. I am so upset about this. We have witnessed first hand the miracles recieved by Mike, Lindsey, Amber...and many other members of our family. We know the dedication of the transplant team, escecially those who harvest and transport the organs. Six great people (4 medical and 2 pilots) are presumed dead.

One of the surgeons is a peadiatric surgeon, so there is speculation that the donor and reciepient are children. Of course, much is being made of the fact that it was a double lung transplant. One local TV station did a segment on cf in connection coverage of the crash. Of course, no information is being given about the patient who would have received the lungs...but it was mentioned that cf is the leading cause of transplants in children.

My heart goes out to everyone: The crash victims, the reciepient, the donor's family. It is just tragic. I am heartsick to think that somewhere there is a family that has to wait for thier miracle, under such horrible circumstances.

Please say a prayer. Thank you.
