Medicare & CFRD

@ Julie, if her nurses appeal and put in the right code for diagnoses, the chances of her getting approved are greatly increased. I am very well aware of the difference between Medicare and Medicaid... as I am living that right now.
<br />
<br />Like Erin pointed out, in the meantime you can get a Walmart brand glucometer, the test strips usually run about fifty cents each... which is somewhat of a help.
<br />
<br />I did a little diabetic education right before I stopped working and that is what we would tell people to use in the meantime while we appealed the insurance companies decision of denial, or what we had people who did not have insurance use.
<br />
<br />I would still talk to your CF nurse or care nurse since they are pretty good usually at getting through the red tape.
<br />

Jennifer, Really? I'm sorry to the initial poster for this, but you are such a freaking liar. Didn't you just post here: http://forums.cysticfibrosis.com/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=609208&discTab=true&STARTPAGE=3&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear that you are getting medicare in February???? how exactly is it that you are "living this right now" if you are even on medicare. I'm sorry but i am SOOOOOOOOOO sick of the lies I keep finding you in on this forum and on www.cf2chat.com. Get your stories straight lady!

I am not sure what "diagnosis" I have with Medicare for my diabetes, however, all of my supplies are covered through CCS (mail order). I know Medicare requires as someone else mentioned, you have to see your diabetic specialist every 90 days in order for the supplies to be covered.

I am going to modify my initial response to you Julie because I am not as low as my response to you came out,<br><br>Julie you are so out of line, and you are showing your true colors, you are the lowest person on a list if their was a list of people I owe any explanation to. I was giving the OP options of what she can do to get some strips and supplies.<br><br>Not only am I living this, I am also a nurse, who use to teach diabetic education, (even if it was for a short time.)<br><br>I am explaining this for the good of other people not for your sake because you are worth the short breath I have to breathe..<br><br> I am living this now as I am on Medicaid waiting to get Medicare in February, I have been denied several things on Medicaid that my nurse has appealed and I am now getting. Sometimes it is as simple as changing a diagnoses code. <br><br> I have been denied going to National Jewish Hospital but was told when my Medicare kicks in that I will be able to go. So YES I am LIVING IT.
Yes I know the difference between Medicare and Medicaid very well and I am not about to go tit for tat with you, but I could and I would win. <br>
<br>The way you presented yourself in that last post was unprofessional, immature and very judgmental. You outright wrongly accused.  I think it is perfect your response because it validates a lot of who I think you are. so I am kind of humored by your jump to conclusions and be so wrong response.<br>
<br>
<br>I get you are trying to be "helpful" but your maturity and your out lashes speak for yourself and I don't have to say anything because you say it all so well about yourself in that post. and it way better then anything I could say... <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"><br>
<br>To the original poster, I hope you get answers quickly. <br>
<br>Thank you,

Jennifer, again, this post has NOTHING to do with MedicAID, so I don't for the life of me understand why you keep referencing it. As I stated in my initial response to you, her questions were about mediCARE, which I am in the process of researching. NOT medicAID. There is a huge difference. You and I have had this discussion before.

Immature? No, far from it. Fed up with you and your lies and dishonesty- absolutely.

Part B picks up the bill for supplies (lancets, alcohol wipes, needles and glucometer), Part D picks up the bill for the meds (insulin, glucophage, prandidn etc...). Part B is used for durable medical equipment, diabetes meters and supplies fall under that. Hope this helps.
