Mediport for my 14 year old - should we do it?

Honestly, my port has been life saving...I too had so many problems with PICC's and peripherals were a joke as they wouldn't last more than a day. I am actually more active with it than a PICC ever allowed me to be. Also, I self access..when I need IV's I just pop in a needle and off I go, no waiting for PICC teams or scheduling of any sorts. I know it seems like such a permanent solution, but in the end is well worth it in my opinion.
