And I do think it is relevant as to whether your jail term is reduced. If you had murdered/assaulted/raped someone, I think a judge would be less likely to care about your CF status. Moreover, in some states marijuana has partial legality for medical purposes and your defense could actually include CF---well, at least if you ate it and didn't smoke it.
