Message of Hope

I just wanted to give everyone a message of hope. My son is 10 years old and was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis when he was 5 months old. After diagnosis he hemmoraged on his brain due to lack of vitamin k from cf at 7 months. we had lots of hospitalizations for pneumonia and respiratory viruses and at that time I thought that was the worst that it could be. In april of 05' he was diagnosed with cf related diabetes and liver disease. In July of 06' it became end stage liver disease and we started getting prepared to put him on the list for his liver transplant. On august 10, 2006 he was placed on the donor list. We got a call on August 26, stating that a donor had been found and to proceed to the hospital. On august the 27th he had his transplant. It took only 17 days after being put on the list to get his transplant, and we were only in the hospital for 18 days after. He is doing wonderful. He's back at school and being his regular 10 year old self. We were truly blessed and I just wanted to share my story.
