Microwave Sterilizers

As some of you know, I'm getting my son ready to go off to college. I was thinking of getting him a microwave sterilizer.

Things will have to be easy for him, otherwise he may just blow it off. Just trying to set him up for success.

Has anyone used them?

Yes, I use a baby bottle microwave sterilizer all the time for my reusable neb cup. It's easy: add the specified amount of water (approx a cup), neb parts, and zap on high for 6 minutes.

i too have a microwave bottle one. i did what the directions told me...yea didn't work out so well for me. i melted a part of my neb. the mouth piece and the piece that hold the mouth piece. i was so peeved. at least it was one of the cheap ones, not a pari lc plus. i also have an old microwave too, if that makes any difference.

We've been using an Avent baby bottle microwave sterilizer (which is nothing more than a covered plate with a perforated support to keep things out of the water) for Pari LC nebs for 5 years now with good results. We run it 5 minutes in a medium size microwave on high then shake them out while still hot - they dry the rest of the way in a few minutes. I've melted a few non-Pari things with this approach.
