So what exactly does this mean since you have transplanted lungs? Is that more dangerous (I seriously don't know much about transplants).
I hope all is well and I hope you don't have to stay there. NOT a good time.
Good luck and try to keep your chin up.....as hard as that is.

My doc sent me back home!!! YAY!!!!

He did the usual 8 vials of blood, x-ray and pft's. I don't know the bloodresults yet, but will hear when something is wrong there. My x-ray was the same as last, couldn't see anything wrong there really. My lungs didn't sound all clear but not really bad either, and that was only in the right lower lobe. PFTs were ok, not as good as last ones but they vary a bit with me and were about the same as the time before last.. So... My doc said there was definately something there. He could hear i was coughing more then usual too. I don't really cough stuff up, well i do a few times a day, only a bit. But can't do it on demand as there is so little so he couldn't do a culture. We talked about what to do. Antibiotics or not, if so, iv's or not.. As the only 2 ab's that come from the cultures are iv ones.. But we decided iv's would be a little to aggressive now, as my x-ray was clear and my pft's weren't that bad.. And there is always the fear of getting more resistent pseudo with another course of iv's. So a ten day course of Cipro it is, just to try what it will do. And i have to up my Prednisolon to 35mg for tomorrow and go down with 5mg every day to my usual 7.5mg. See if that together will do the trick. I hope so. I have to go back next week for my 6 month follow up so we'll see if it's better then.

Thanks all for the lovely messages!!!

Kelli you are right this isn't a good time to be away from the boards Who else would keep you all updated about Marie hehe. New update will follow on her post by the way!

an infection in my new lungs could be more dangerous. As my immunesystem is lowered and my body can't fight the infection that good because of that. On the other hand, i don't have thick mucous anymore so it would in theorie be easier to get the stuff out.

Thank you all again!!!!

Thank you for the update. I was hoping you were going to be well.

Can you use the vest at this time? After my second transplant when I felt I had any congestion or would hear anything, I would do some CPT on myself. If I coughed up a tiny yellow thingy, I was happy that I got it out.

I am curious, do they use induction therapies in Europe? An induction medication is used at the time of the surgery. It greatly suppresses your immune system so your body accepts the organ.

Thanks Risa,
i don't have a Vest, we don't have that in Europe.. I have tried to huf a little to get some stuf up but nothing comes really. So guess there's not much there. As the x-ray showed and my doc could hear. It's just enough to make my lungfunction go down a little, just as much that i would have to come. But i think i cough the little that there is up maybe, maybe that why my sister noticed me cough more during the weekend. Sometimes i cough up a tiny yellow thingy too hehe just like you. And yes i'm always happy to see i got that out!

I don't know about that induction therapie.. I do know what you mean. I'll ask next week, you've made me curious
