Mild CF - no need for treatment?

I'm relatively new to the CF world (my daughter Maggie is almost 6 months now) so I'm not sure about this. My sister (who is 24) has a friend that was diagnosed with asthma, had MRSA in her sinuses for years and other "health issues". Just this month she was told by her doctor who I think is a pulmonologist that she has CF. She was told she has a mild case and doesn't need to do anything about it. She is living in Haiti doing missionary work and is back there now. She was not sent to a CF doctor at all. What do you think of this?

CF is progressive. She should do something about to keep herself healthy. She should definitely see a CF doctor.

I agree. She should come back and be set up with and evaluated by a certified cf center/pulmonologist asap, especially with a history of MRSA in her sinuses. CF IS progressive, like Jennifer said, and it's not like she is symptom free, apparently.

She may not feel the need for Nebs and such now. But my guess
she will the first time she gets a bad lung infection.
when I was that age I did almost nothing as far as nebs except when sick.
I guess i wanted what I thought to be normal. What was I thinking?

But a Jennifer said Cf does progress over time.
The Less infections the better. every lung infection reduces the
amount of lung tissue..
I would say that your sisters friend Needs to See another Doctor.
I wonder why any Doc would say such a thing. To me, that is just crazy.

I am thinking that Haiti is not the best place for a person with Cf to live.
I wonder if living there could be the cause of her Sinus and other health issues.
