Mobilaire Compressor 50 psi

Our Pari Vios which we just got like 2-3 months ago is already not working great. Looking around we just need a better hospital grade compressor. I saw the Mobilaire compressor. Is it ok to use with CF meds? It looks much more sturdy...Also runs around $275. WOndering if I could get a script from the doc if you think its a good compressor for Albuterol, pulmicort, HTS and pulmozyme? We use the nebulizer about an hour a day.

Thanks!!!

I love mine, definitely bigger and heavier than pari products, but you can adjust the psi...you can potentially use whatever psi your tubing will take with things like albuterol, but for me, at a higher pressure, the particles were probably too small to stay in my airways and I was probably not retaining much meds... For TOBI you have to be at 25 psi or under so I just keep mine at 25 psi for my xopenex, saline, pulmozyme, and TOBI.

My parents just paid outright for the nebulizer (b/c i was going through paris like you) and then we sent stuff into the insurance, which takes longer, but we got the compressor faster.

AT first i could really tell a difference with the med delivery, felt like my treatment lasted me longer, like the effects of it... then I did a week with the high pressure and started feeling crappy, so had to make up that and I got and exacerbation brewing...

anyways... the point is, I love mine even though heavier, louder, bigger... I wouldnt go back to Pari if you paid me... I have my pari trek (and brand new VIOS in waiting) which is barely used, and proably wont be used b/c even on trips if im on TOBI i am bringing my invacare b/c it takes me about 12 mintues instead of 30-40... and my fiance hardwired an inverter into his land cruiser so I can do my nice big compressor and my vest if driving for a while...

I have had mine since, I think middle of september but it doesnt look like it is going to be breaking down anytime soon. I am thinking it is going to last quite a bit longer than the paris just b/c its designed for long term, consistant use.

We LOVE ours!!! We've had it for over two years and it is terrific. I think it works better than the one at the hospital. If you check the CFF website, its one of the few machines that is approved for both pumozyme and tobi.

Its not cheap, but I think its a quality machine and worth every penny.

Thank you so much for the input!! I think The next time we go to clinic I will try to get a prescription for one. I can always just buy it and use it on our flex spending for next year, if I need to.

I think time saved is definately worth the $... I feel like our Pari is replaced every 6 months...And if treatment time goes by quicker and is still effective; even better.
