Have any of you had mono? I think I may have gotten it from my room-mate...I'm worried about it because I feel to tired and worn down to do much and my throat hurts really bad... Does any one know how to handle mono?

Although i do not have CF. I have been just diagnosed with Mono this week. My Doc told me to drink lots of fluids. Take vitamin C twice a day and a multi vitamin once a day.

Get lots of rest and listen to your body. If it's tired then rest or it can get real bad. I can't say enough that you need to drink lots of fluids, tons! This can last for weeks so you need to take care of yourself and rest.

Take care and i hope you are better soon,

Like Graves, I don't have CF but I did have mono in college during one summer school period. I was completely exhausted (and "yes" I had a really bad sore throat too).

The docs had me quit my part time job and take a leave from school. My mom set up the sun chaise in the family room in front of the TV, filled it with pillows and a quilt, and set up an pitcher filled with ice water next to me.

I thought "wow, this is great! I'll sit here and watch old movies on TV and read books and have a fine old time."

Then I fell asleep for 2 weeks.

Eventually, I woke up enough to enjoy watching the movies, but it took me 6 weeks before I could make it through the day without a nap.

Like Graves says, listen to your body and sleep if you're tired and drink lots of fluids. It's a virus ( http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/mononucleosis/DS00352 ) so there's not too much else you can do -- tho' I've read that sometimes now they use Valaciclovir (a drug that wasn't available to me when I had mono) during the acute phase...

I've had mono like 3 times in the last 12 months! I do have CF and my dr said to sleep when my body says to sleep. (Which was all the time!) I took extra vitamin C and drank alot of water/juice. My throat was sore so I ate a ton of popsicles; I figured they were just frozen juice! I went through a whole box...

But yes what Graves said and what LisaV said...Rest and Drink...Then Rest and Drink more!

Pay attention to your body, I didn't have any issues but my dr did see me every few days to listen to me breath.
