Does anyone else out there get crazy mood swings most of the month? I am 27 so not menopause?? right?? I will be in a great mood and then be in a bad one the next minute......this has been getting increasingly worse as the past couple of years go on. I have totally noticed it is directed at my husband of 4 and half years. I was reading about soy....i just don't know what to think.... I am not very sick with CF either.....kinda at a loss....any ideas???

thanks

I dont have cf but I do have twin 11 year olds with cf. I too have mood swings, I asked my Dr about it and he seems to think it is caused by stress.

When I was younger I was on Ortho-Tri-Novum 7-7-7 Birth Control Pills and didn't think anything of it until a friend of mine mentioned that his fiance went on the same ones and became a completely different person. Would fly into rages, get really frustrated. Now that I think of it -- I did lose my temper a bit more often, but figured at the time it was just dealing with my family, snotty sister and a boyfriend they all hated.

I'm not sure if it has anything to do with CF, but I too notice that I go through moodswings every once and a while. Most of the time it is directed at my boyfriend, for the simple fact that we live together. The birth control pill thing makes sense too. I was once on that type of pill and had to get it switched because I would totally rage out!

I have CFRD and notice that I'm easily irritated when my blood sugar levels are low. Are your blood sugar levels pretty good?

i am very moody, i can be reaLLY HAPPY, THEN IT CAN TAKE THE SLIGHTEST THING TO SET ME OFF, AND MY BLOOD GETS SCALDING.... I JUST FIGURED I WAS BIPOLAR OR JUST CRAZY, BUT IT IS NICE TO KNOW THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE! I AM DEFINATELY NOT EVEN TEMPERED, AND I AM VERY EMOTIONAL, ALL THE TIME.IF I AM DRIVING AND I SEE A DEAD BIRD, I WANT TO CRY!

I was so bad at one point that I literally thought I was going crazy. I asked my Mom about mental health issues in the family because I know my 2 of my cousins are very schizophrenic & highly medicated. I was looking into seeking help when things eased for me & it has never gotten that bad again. I am terrible when I am due for my period. All the jokes about PMS definitely fit me & my husband (god love him) knows (after 9 years of learning) when to stay away & when to hug me. Unless I get too bad then he just says I didnt do anything wrong & goes to bed to avoid getting angry with me. Much of mine depends on sleep or quality more than quantity & how my over all health is plus of course "that time of the month" since I am not on birth control pills. Sorry to hear of your problems, but I can so relate!

Sorry girls, I hate to break it to you, but it's because you are female. Science discovered a long time ago that if you are female, you are automatically insane. Just thought I'd help

I dont dispute this Sean. As a matter of fact I saw somewhere (cant recall where) that the cause of most of our problems is men. For example: MENopause, PreMENstrual Syndrom & the MENstrual cycle.

DARN MELISSA, THAT IS GOOD! NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT, BUT SPEAKING OF MEN, THAT IS SO TRUE! THEY ARE IN THERE OWN LITTLE WORLD, AND THEY ACT LIKE WHATEVER... I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM GUSH OUT BLOOD FOR A DAY, AND I GUARANTEE US WOMEN WOULD GET A LITTLE MORE RESPECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We should get a little more respect. After all, name one other living thing that bleeds for 7 days every month, and lives to tell about it?

I noticed that once I got into my 30s my PMS has gotten worse...... I used to hear ppl talk about PMS and when I was in my 20s I thought I had it but gosh now it is really bad... I could actually growl at ppl if I let myself.....When ever I feel like the whole world is crazy and I am the only sane one on it... Walaaaaaaa I realize it was PMS... It only happends for a few days out of the month.. but I get really teary about everything... and I also notice ppl annoy me.....I don't usually get annoyed by ppl in general so that should be my first warning sign that I have PMS... but I forget every freaken month.....

Also when I am on high levels of steroids I truly am insane.. my doctor says I handel it well.. but I don't.. I am paronoid that everyone hates me.. and I can pretty much find fault in a helpless kitten.... It is bad.. I am very lucky to have understanding and loving ppl in my life.. who can usually turn my moments of insanity around and have me laughing at my self...

Unfortuently its all hormonal and as we get older our esrogen and pergesterone and all of those fluxuate on a bigger scale. It also accounts for why you start shedding hair more right before your period.

Anyway she's much better now. Phwewww.. Heeehheee. She gets then from the health food store. Of course ask your doc than can tell you more.

Let me tell you girls what's up. And I swear i'm not being a male pig, i'm just trying to let the younger girls (or the older if they haven't figured it out yet) what's up with the differences in the sexes (besides the obvious biological/sexual differences).

Women are amazing creatures. The have massive maternal instincts, which goes hand in hand with their natural nurturing ways. (as an example, show any female a puppy/kitten, regardless of age...While a male will enjoy it's company and pet it and enjoy it's cuteness for a period of time, women/females are totally engulfed by the "AAAWWWW" factor"...That's their nurturing/maternal genes) They are very intense creatures (and I refer to men as creatures also, before you NOW card carrying types try and lynch me ) That continue on the most important part of being human, which is our genes, and prolificate the human race.

Us men greatly respect everything about women. Remember girls, your general role is to nurture and raise the young, while our role (regardless how stupid it is), is to die in conflict/wars. Theres a reason why men are a "majority", and females are a "minority". Because the conflict of mankind requires more men than women, in the stance of men being thrown into the meat grinder of war/conflict. Not like women don't die in a military sense, we all know that. But in general, in a biological sense, women are the caregivers/nurturers, and men are fresh meat for the meat grinders of human conflict. That is exactly why there are more men than women, and it makes perfect sense, speaking from a relationship of what's important for the human race.

What's the most important thing to ants? The queen. What's the most expendable ant? The drones/workers (depending on species, some ants species are all female, but those colonies are MUCH more efficient than others). Jim Morrison said it best. I won't repeat the quote that i'm talking about because it's pretty crude. But the just of it implies that women are by far the most superiod creatures, and that men are only made to help propagate the species, create war, and protect the women long enough for them to be the caregivers.

With that aside, what really freaks us guys out is that women just out of nowhere freak out, and just go ultimate emotionally unstable for no real reason. Guys tend to rely on some form of reason. Meaning, If you are sitting on your front porch (as a guy), and another guy runs by and steals your car/bike/snoopy mobile/whatever, the very first thing the guy is going to say to himself is "WTF is that guy doint, GIVE ME BACK MY STUFF!". While a female, regardless if it's that time of the month or not (where hormones rage), she might spill a cup of milk (or something else equally ambiguous), and for no reason (to us males anyways) break into fits of crying.

Women are generally emotionally based, and guys are generally physically based. But that's what makes the whole thing brilliant. Women give the yin of emotional aspects, and men give the yang of physical aspects. Thats what makes men and women so beautiful in the end. We complete each other.

But I would be lying if I said the way you girls act at times doesn't drive us guys totally insane

Oh I know, trust me. I just can't for the life of me understand why women are so "what do guys want" with regards to us. We are by far the most simple minded biped mammals around. Feed us, F us, and give us that oh so sacred third right, of (can fill in the blank in general, but to capsulate us--->) either time with our friends, silence, or time for us to titilate ourselves solo...We are VERY easy to figure out. I just don't understand how/why you guys look at us like some ultimate rubiks cube puzzle x 1000. We are soldiers, and defenders. We create the wars to begin with (if it were up to women, there would be no wars), and we are the ones that cast ourselves into the most horrific conflicts known to our species. Just accept our roles (both men and women), and we will all get along better.

Has anyone read the book: "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus"? It goes into the reality of how men/women are just make up differently, handle things differently & interperet things differently. Granted that there are exceptions to the rule, but I hate to say this.......Sean is rrrrrr......Let me try again, Sean is rrriii......Hell Sean isnt wrong! LOL

Thank you all for your experiences and info. Now, I don't feel quite so crazy. I think I am going to put soy into my diet and see if that helps. I have tried soy milk and that is okay. Has anyone tried Tofu or any other soy foods and liked them? Ihave not tried anything else.

I have eaten it all since close friends are vegetarians. It usually is good. It does take a bit of getting use to, but we were able to full my daughter & her friends when we went to FLorida with our friends the vegetarians. We went to a vegetarian chinese restaurant. The menu still read beef with brocholli etc, but it was really beans/tofu etc. I didnt say anything to the kids until afterwards & they were wolfing it down. I have never actually cooked with it, but my nephew has & it has been tasty.
