So I have been wondering this for a long time and I dont know if I am overreacting or if this is just the stress on my body and emotions these last like six months or so...or if I should be legit concerned b/c of symptoms. I have in the past had certain symptoms of Diabetes and have noticed in recent months that I am more thirsty and peeing a lot more. Like I said though, I dont know if this is just me NOTICING these things or if I am bored, so I take sips from water bottles more. Also my appetite had increased drastically ohh about three months ago...did not gain anyweight, didnt lose any, but was eating ALLLLLLLLL day long (as well as drinking water).
One of the things I have always wondered is for those of you who have CFRD if you noticed a change in bowel movements. Like I know a big CFRD red mark is weight loss...well I havent really had that, but have noticed a difference in my poops...I am going more often, wayyyyy more gassy (and stinky) and like noticably NOT digested(if you catch my drift...sorry tmi) <img src="i/expressions/proudfart.gif" border="0">. I did up my dose of enzymes back in December and that helped me for a while then it started again. The thing I dont know though is if my recent digestive issues are just normal CF related problems or a sign of something bigger like CFRD or if I just need more enzymes or whatnot. Also How fast did you notice a change in your CFRD related symtoms before you were diagnosed? Did it happen really fast, like the weight loss happen in a few days, weeks, months?
My last A1C was in December and it was pretty normal (according to my doc) at 6.1. How fast can that change? And if my blood sugar is running up and down all day long, wouldnt my A1C practically come out normal anyway? I am a little concerned that he doesnt seem to think any of this is a problem....like he just thinks im nuts or have anxiety problems...stuff like that. I feel like sometimes he just wants everything to be ok and that he thinks im just sort of telling myself I have these symptoms...Maybe this is his way of telling me I need to see the adult specialist (hmmmm). I mean dont get me wrong he is great and I love him to death. I just dont want to keep ignoring the symptoms until I have lost 20 pounds...then its like too late almost. I am going back in two weeks and will probably be on IV's after that, but maybe I will request a GTT for while I am in?
Thanks in advance for your input!
Oh and btw...I have not been tired or headachy...just kinda shaky (not every time, but a few times a week, maybe) when hungry and get hungry really fast after I eat! Like an hour later...even when I eat good food!
