Morning lung pain

I know if I sleep for a loooong time I will feel achy in my chest area. Not sure if it is my lungs or just that chest cavity. I stretch and take a few breaths and after a few hours I'm ok.

Since it only happens when you are sleeping long and not every night I would have to say it is muscular or something like that.

Start monitoring it if you can. Take notes and all. Then talk to your DR and see if they can help you figure it out.

Ever since I had my pneumothorax in 2007 when I wake up my lungs hurt, like they feel stiff. I asked my local dr about it, I cant quite remember what he said, but I do know there is nothing I can do about it. I think he said it was where the lung might be rubbing against the plueral wall, but dont quote me on that. After I force myself to take a few really deep breaths it seems to ease off.

Danyell- Yeah, that sounds like the same thing.

I think it's just one of those odd things I never know the answer to. At least it doesn't happen all the time and it's more of an annoyance than a pain.

I had that rubbing when I had a (probable) virus infection to the plueral wall. It hurt really bad. They could hear it while listening with the stethescoop(sp?) too.
With me it really hurt a lot.
