I would just try and always use applesauce, pudding, etc until he is a little older. Hope this helps.</end quote></div>

I was told not to put it in pudding *confused* because it is a milk product and will cause the enzymes to break down faster then if you were to put it in applesauce or some other fruit puree or something.

Are you sure it is enzymes that are causing his pain? Could he have a cavity or anything? I am sure you thought of that but in case you havent maybe getting his teeth checked wouldnt hurt other then that I am not sure what else to tell you because it sounds like you are doing everything right already.

I'm not sure that it even is the enzymes. Mornings are so chaotic and he threw a fit about his septra -- started breaking down before he swallowed it and it tastes dreadful, which is why I put it on a spoonful of applesauce. He pointed to his rear molar and I did see a piece of something stuck on it and figured we'd get it out when he brushed his teeth. He's got all his baby teeth, and I didn't think they start getting additional molars until age 6-7. Seems a little early for that...

DH said he was fine the whole way to preschool and when he dropped him off was happy as can be. So I imagine if it WAS a burn or irritation from the enzyme he bit into, he'd still be unhappy.

the doc says that you really should not crush the enzymes. My son is ten now and he finnally is starting to swallow the. Our cf clinic told us to put them applesauce. they said not to put it in any dairy products, yogurt and such. I had asked about them doing a liquid, that is when they said do not crush them. They do cause irritaion, like a burning in the mouth. Good luck.

Picked him up at preschool and I asked him how his tooth was, he told me that he was fine. One would think if it was from biting into that one enzyme that he'd continue to have some pain.
