Moving Port

I got a port just over a week ago and have just had all the tape taken off today. I didn't realise earlier but now that I can see it I'm noticing it moves, a lot. Is this normal?
It's in the top of my chest, kind of the top of my boob and moves from the middle of my chest to almost at my arm pit. Because I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen it's grossing me out a little!

My port moves about a inch. You will love it, once it gets sorted out. One of the best things I have done for my health/happiness

No, I don't think that's okay! Mine wobbles around a bit, but that sounds like a lot of movement. It should be in a "pocket" and stay fairly stable.

I know exactly what you're talking about. When I first had mine put in it would "jump" around when I raised and lowered my arm. My reaction was also to be horrified and grossed out. I've had it now for 4 years so I can't remember how long it did that for, but it has stopped. I too thought there must be something really wrong and maybe I should get it removed. Mine was also painful for a long time. It's right in line with my bra strap so I couldn't wear a bra for a whole year! I love it now. No more fishing for veins or waiting in line for interventional radiology to place a picc. If you're really worried about it, my advice is to ask your CF doctor or the surgeon about it.

Hey I've had my port for years and it moves around quite a bit but it still works like a charm! I just have to make sure to warn the nurse before she accesses it.

Mine moves about an inch or 1/2 inch side to side and up and down. But not nearly as much as you are describing. I think I'd contact the surgeon just to make sure it is ok.
