MRSA

My daughter cultures MRSA only and I have my doubts that it "is nothing to worry about", I guess to each his/her own. I was not happy with the responses from the Drs. so I did my own research and found Allicin, a natural Antibitoic derived from Garlic. Here is the link:

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.allimax.us/qa.htm
">http://www.allimax.us/qa.htm
</a>
I have only been using this for a week and I can tell a difference already. OK, maybe the MRSA will come back, but if you read on this forum, sometimes it doesn't and with a natural remedy I am willing to try it. I truly believe that MRSA results in more infections, more Antibiotics, more hospitalizations and more lung damage. If the Drs. are not worried with respect to my daughter, then why are they worried about spreading it ??? I have seen what MRSA can do and, we ALL know it's not a good thing, SO GET RID OF IT !

Sorry, I had to vent, but the MRSA topic I am sensitive to. I believe in modern medicine to a degree, but am also a strong believer in natural treatments as well.

I think you will find a lot of good information on this site as well as the Allimax site.

Please keep me posted,
Gina

Thanks for the replies

Just to clear things up, I wasn't diagnosed with MRSA.
Luckily it's not really a problem here in the Netherlands. It's even so that when someone has been in the hospital in another country and has to go into hospital again when home that person has to be checked for MRSA first and when he has it or it's not known yet he or she has to remain in isolation.
The Netherlands is one of very few countries in the worlds where MRSA is really not common at all. They are trying to keep it that way.

I'm just asking because my really good friend in the UK was diagnosed with it. She has a really nasty chest infection too that doesn't want clear and she heard she cultures MRSA yesterday. She feels really poorly, is on o2 by mask, is really tired, cold and short of breathe and her fev1 is in the 20s.

I really hope they can treat it. So she will feel better again.
And also because when she is free of it I would be able to visit her again. I can't imagine not being able to see her again. I've known her for a little over 3 years but it feels like a lifetime, she's really one of my best friends.

Thanks again!

My daughter, Kayla, has a tough time with her MRSA. Sometimes it just sits there, but when it flares up, she is miserable.

She has been on IV Vanc for it once, and it really helped out. She has taken oral Zyvoxx, and that worked great! Most of the time it is controlled with Bactrim.

My younger daughter, Hannah, cultures MRSA, but has never had any issues with it.

Hope your friend feels better soon...

Charlotte's fev1 is down to 24% and she last 9.6kg of weight.. She just texted me this afternoon. She had an appt at the hospital today, she should hear about further treatment.
Thank you for all your thoughts.
Charlotte is a member here too, though she never posted on adult board, only the pregnancy board. She gave birth to a babyboy, her second child in May.

Thanks again!
