Do any of you have experience with MRSA (or experience with family having it)? If you wouldn't mind elaborating on your experiences, especially in its ties to CF - lung infections, etc - it would be greatly appreciated.
Feel free to message me privately if you feel that would be a better way to talk.

I've been colonized with MRSA since maybe 2002 or 2003. It makes things a bit more complicated at times, trying to figure out which bug needs to be treated (MRSA or PA), but it has not seemed to make a major impact on my overall health. Although I have a few times been treated with Vancomycin for it, mine usually has responded well to oral Zyvox.

For me, at least, MRSA infections seem to come on more quickly than PA and don't back off once they start. Often with PA I'll go back and forth with better and worse days for some time (even months) before having to treat it, but not with MRSA.

Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any specific questions I can try to answer.

I got it in the early 90s I think, so 18 years give or take never had a problem with it until 5 years ago it flared during an exchurbation honestly I could say to that point I was normal. Since then not so much, but that's more Cf, arthritis, knee and back issues among others. When I had gotten it back then after a couple of years they made notes because it never flared. Realistically there are worst bugs out there to get then mrsa and never travel to India sub conti. They have bugs that would destroy Cf. Thankfully Vesnu in his wisdom has not had it spread out that far. It's on radar like mrsa was in the 70-80s.

My Mom had it in her lungs, colon, and kidneys. She started out with it in her lungs and had numerous hospital stays b/c of it. She had chronic pnuemonia, pulmonary fibrosis and multiple GI probs. At the end it had spread everywhere and was resistant to antibiotics.
