Ughh, yeah so the MTV Frankie chic did not do us any favors by going on TV and acting like a complete nut. I mean that could have been the woman in her, but really she was crazy. I understand that having CF is not easy or easy to convey to others. But making herself a drama mama was not helping. I am sure this will get a ton of comments. I just think that they could have picked a person that was a little more stable with his or her disease, that is all. anyone else got a comment? She was ....smoking and carrying on, then crying, then fighting and then leaving???

Well they choose "drama mamas" on purpose to get better ratings, for one. And two, I mostly agree. Frankie being able to smoke, I imagine, made it look as if we're all probably healthy to people who don't know any better. I liked her overall, but a bunch of the things she did annoyed me. 1. The smoking. 2. Cheating on Dave. 3. Blaming every cheating instance on drinking, and expecting to be forgiven for it. I liked that they allowed a self mutilator to get on TV though, and even devoted an episode to it. But that's irrelevant.

In the end, there's nothing we can do about it, anyway. So oh well. <img src="i/expressions/rose.gif" border="0">

I despised frankie. she was a freaking whore, and i have no sympathy for her what so ever. she was irrational. she reminds me of my ex, my friends Ex, and this other stupid whore named Jenn. If she didnt smoke i might have the slightest bit of sympathy for her. i can not even begin to conveye how unbelievably moronic i think she is. and another thing. i never saw the show all that often, what with my utter hatred for most things MTV. But i often question whether or not she even had it. i mean i realize they would have tried to cut out as many instances of a coughing fit and what not, but it just didnt seem like it was there.....at all. now i know there are cases that are that mild. but what makes me question it really is that combined with the fact that reality shows have a tendency to make stuff up to make the show interesting. who knows. my point is, shes a whore. f**k her

Wow, tell us how you really feel...LOL!

I didn't watch it all that much either, but the ones I did see never showed her doing any treatments. Hmm, perhaps she never really did them, so that's why they didn't show it...

Yeah I mean even if she did do treatments it would make for pretty boring tv! Besides some people with cf are VERY mild cases and some people don't do treatments anyway.

ok im obsessed with Real World and Road Rules....first off i TOTALLY wished i was on Real World and be the "CF Girl"...anyways i think Frankie did an injustice to CF patients...yet i also think it has a lot to do with the editing how Mtv didnt show things such as her taking her meds (assuming she did), her coughing fits or anything.....given i dont think people should have sympathy over people w CF, but i dont think that MTV tried to even show what having CF is really like...im not syaing that they should have made a BIG deal over it, but they should have said somehting....like sometimes they have after a show where to get information about ___? (like w Lindsay on a previous Real World whose friend die,d they said where poeple who had the same experiences could find info on coping with it...) they didnt even try to say anything About CF and about where to find informaiton for other people out there who dont know what CF is, they didnt even TRY to really show what its like living w CF
well getting back to Frankie- i think its horrible that she smokes!! and if she were to EVER complain about it, how shes getting sick or whatever...well shes VERY dumb bc she is doing it to herself! smoking doesnt help anyone, whether with CF or not....and w CF-EVEN WORSE/Horrible!!!!
i was very disspointed in her, and happy she left the show bc she was bad....yet i think she ruined it for everyone
yet then again Mtv did a good job causing controversy and issues on the show so more people would watch
overall- mtv did good for ratings, bad/nothing for CF, (and Frankie didnt help either!!! )

In the episode her mom and sister came to visit they showed he mom lighting up a smoke too. To me, and I may be totally off base, that doesn't show much parental support in aiding to Frankie's needs either. I take it as the Mom didn't feel it was important to quit smoking and probably didn't lead Frankie down the right path. I know "young people" can be rebellious, but really, you'd think as a parent you could quit something like smoking if your kid has a LUNG disease...
