I see that a lot of you take Mucinex as a part of your daily regimen. I also noticed that there are several different kinds available in the drugstore. Which one do you take? I was just wondering also how effective this is because my doctors have never recommended this but every time I see the commercials I think it would make perfect sense to take something like this. Thanks!!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I take it 2x/day (morning & night)...it really does seem to help. I was on it before it became an OTC med, which was actually cheaper then b/c insurance covered the rx for guaifenesin. This was also before I was diagnosed w/ CF...my CF doc told me I could take it if I want, just personal preference.

I choose to take it pretty much all the time, but esp when I'm not feeling well.

My pulmo said it would make as much difference as drinking extra water. Nonetheless, when I started taking it two yrs later because the nurse who administers my allergy shot thought it was weird that I DIDN'T take it, I noticed an improvement in my wheeze and cough.

I take 1200 mg a day (600mg extended release 2x a day). If you check out the pregnancy section of the forum, you will find people have talked quite a bit about mucinex for their cervixes.

I am curious to see what people's doses are also. And if you take fizzy NAC, do you reduce the mucinex?
