Hi all, would you say it works better than Pulmozyme? I use that once a day and I must say I've been using it for yrs. and have not had a plug in I can't remember how long? My mucus flows pretty easily.

Yes Mucinex breaks up the mucus different than Pulmozyme that breaks down the DNA. I need both to keep the sticky mucus from my lungs.

I take generic Mucinex everyday and do Pulmozyme. Pulmozyme SHOULD be enough to thin mucus, but as we all know, it doesn't always work as it SHOULD. The way I see it, every little bit helps. Even if Mucinex isn't available in Canada, they may have a generic. The active ingredient is guaifenesin, check around for that. My dr told me, if I'm going to take guaifenesin, make sure I don't get the one that has a cough suppresant in it also, just the expectorant. The suppresant keeps you from coughing and getting anything out.
