Is Mucomist still on the market? Our pharmacy cannot get it anymore and do not know why. They haven't been told anything, and were asking me if i had any ideas as to why they cant get it.
My child has never been on Mucomist before, so i am not even aware as to what is is exactly used for and what it does.
BTW- we are in Australia, not sure if that makes a difference.

Hope someone can enlighten me <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

You don't use it but the pharmacy was asking you where to get it? Have them look up the name of the manufacturer and contact them.

Mucomist thins mucous. When inhaled, it can loosen secretions and as an off-label use, when drank, can act as a laxative for blockages. There are new meds that help thin secretions and probably why Mucomist isn't as popular or available now.

Hi, no we dont use it. He has a customer that uses it, and now cannot get it anymore. So, he thought i may know why due to the fact that i have a child with CF and may have some idea as to why he is unable to get. He has tried contacting the manufacurer, but has had no responce.
Thanks for you help.

I Neb it and Yes a script is needed to get it. It has been around for
years. It is not as smelly as it use to be.
I remember taking it when I was about 10, it was hard to take
undiluted .
But, It still works well for me to loosen and thin out
mucus .

Note : If you get it for Nebbing, Get the 10ml bottles.
Once it is opened it is Only Good for 72 hours even when
it is stored in the Fridge.
