I noticed you said you were on HTS, pulmozyme, advair, etc. but you did not mention any inhaled antibiotic. I you feel like you're coughing up a ton you might want to see if there are any inhaled antibiotics you could try. If you culture PA you could try tobi, cayston, or even collisten(sp?) I know if I'm NOT on an inhaled antibiotic I feel like crap. They might be a bit easier on your body as far as side effects go. Good luck.

Geez, I thought I was the only one with the persistent ringing ears! What the hell causes that in CF patients? Since I had my trans I don't bring up any mucous. I sure haven't forgotten the 'good ol' days' though.
I used to keep sputum sample cups around for spittoons; they work great!
Sorry I can't be of more help.
I'd appreciate if someone could tell me why CF patient's ears ring constantly though.
All our best to you, hope you're feeling better soon & can decrease your production....

I know tobi is a cat. D but Cayston is a cat. B (the same as caffeine) and can safely be taken while pregnant. You might want to talk to your doctor about that, you could notice a difference. And a healthy mommy is most important!!

Ringing is normally from tobi or some other antibiotic, it causes hearing loss in some people. First time I was put on it I got a baseline hearing test, too make sure it did cause problems. I do have little hearing loss, but that's from being 30, I remember I could hear a dog whistle. Thankfully that's gone.

I also experience the ringing. When mucus is out of control I add Mucinex to my arsinal; and at night (sleep is imperative!) I take Tussienex - very strong cough med - to make sure I get a good nights sleep. I also use Tussienex when going to the movies, out to dinner, or an important meeting to avoid major cough disturbances. It works great for me.
