Welcome Nick! What sort of advice are you looking for? My advice is to go to college and be proactive with your health. Do you still live at home? I'd stay on your parent insurance until you have a solid career path laid out. How old are the gf's daughters? Do you share the same doctor?

I know what you are asking, Nick. What you want to hear is that you can make your relationship work even though her daughters have CF. Even when we talk about coming into close contact with others with CF for short periods, we worry about what bacteria we can transmit to each other. Particularly with certain bugs, such as MRSA, etc. As a teacher, I have to get a doctor's note every year explaining that I cannot have students with CF in my classroom. Close continuous contact between CFers is discouraged. Any CF doctor will tell you that. That being said, you and your girlfriend will ultimately have to make that decision. And if you love her, like you said, that will be a really tough one to make. Praying for you both!

Hi, This is a hard situation, but it is not safe for you to be around your friend's daughters. For your protection and for theirs, you have to avoid contact with them, because it is possible for people with CF to transfer whatever bacteria they may have to each other. I believe, however, that you can still get together with your friend without her children.
