My Lady Macbeth Hands

Yeah, they started a trial on 240 people yesterday here in Australia, and if it's successful it might be ready by October (too late for us here, but right on time for you lot thank goodness...hopefully!).

I'm concerned about H1N1, especially since the hospital we attend for clinic has had a couple of people die of it recently...I just think, what can we do?

There's no way to escape it. There's hand washing stuff everywhere at the hospital plus Icarry and use my own, and we dont touch door handles or rails, but they are saying that 70% of the people attending doctors with flu have H1N1, and it's hitting 12-20yr hardest, but 20-40 are the age group that's dying from it.

Last I heard was 29 people had died here (Aus), but I think it's higher now.We have to shop etc., not going to church or on bus trips...my 12yr old will be back at school on Monday, that's a real worry.

It's definately a worry <img src=""> The Dr let it slip that there were three pwcf admitted with H1N1 at my hospital the last time I saw him. Don't know who they are or how they're doing, but hope they all pull through.

I have taken a big bottle of moisturiser to work the past few days and the cracks are healing and not bleeding anymore so that's good. Work had bottles of it around, but I didn't trust them because who knows if the last person who used it washed their hands first??

Jo - make sure you send the 12yo to school with some hand gel and make sure he uses it!! If there's lots of sick people I say keep him home - he'll miss more school if he ends up in hospital.

Bring on the vaccine!!

As far as I know, Tamiflu, by Roche, is effective against the H1N1 virus.
