My peditrician says it's not reflux because my daughter doesn't seem to be in pain?

Can any of you who's little ones under 2 months seemed to be in obvious pain because of the reflux or did they just spit up freq no matter how many times you burped them?

Reflux doesn't always mean pain. You can have reflux in your sleep, and aspirate into your lungs, and never know it. Of course you can also wake up choking on it, and that can cause your throat &
nose to burn from the stomach acid.

I wouldn't count on the ped to know anything about reflux & CF. I'd talk with the CF clinic about these types of things.

Can also have silent reflux and no spit up. DH's cousin's son is ds' age and still has issues with reflux. No CF, but she went round and round with her doctor about reflux. Finally put him on zantac and completely different child

My daughter had some issues spitting up when she laid down after a feeding when she was that little. Also at a clinic appt they noticed a tiny bit of wheezing which can be a sign of acid irritating the airways. Never any pain or crying with it. She has been on prevacid twice a day since and never had an issue again. Talk to your cf doc.

You might need a new pedi...that is ridiculous!! Pain thresholds are different for different people, reflux can manifest in many ways. I know I'm not under 2 months old, but I have awful reflux. It makes my asthma horrible before I notice it, then its just a whole load of acid resting at the top of my esophogus. Not pain pain, but surely uncomfortable. Nothing that would make me cry out though -- even as a 2 month old. Its different for many.

Skip the pediatrician when it comes it to CF, GI or pulmonary. You need to take your child to the GI dr at the CF clinic. You do not have to have pain to have reflux. My daughter was going get a g-button at age 5 when the GI dr asked if she had any symptoms of reflux. I said no to all of the symptoms. The GI dr did a endoscopy (down the throat) anyway to make sure. The GI said my daughter had one of the worst cases of reflux she had seen.

absolutley agree with above post.....address reflux issue with cf clinic or gi specialist. my daughter had severe reflux as a baby and eventually had to have a nissan fundilopication procedure to stop it. she didnt seem in obvious "pain"...she would vomit often, but didnt cry in pain. cf and reflux in infants often go hand in hand. definatley consult your cf clinic with your concerns.
