I'm sorry about your super crappy day!!! That really sucks. I've been told prematurely too to start thinking about the tx thing, and it never was a pleasant thought, especially when you're caught off guard like that. I hope you feel better soon! Sounds like you have some really great nurses though. <img src="i/expressions/sun.gif" border="0">

ARGGHHH This just PISSES me off!!!! Why do people who are in the medical field but Are NOT your DR. feel it is okay to say things like that to a patient? We have DR.'s a person or team following us, knowing our history...telling a stranger they need a Tx ASAP is ridiculous!!!! Unless you are my MD shut the heck up and DO YOUR job...not theirs.

Sorry this just ticks me off I have had people -not Dr.'s but nurses etc- talk out of turn to me before and sometimes I almost wonder if they thrive off what they see as the "drama" of it...well I got news I am not a daytime soap opera here for your entertainment...this is MY LIFE. Go watch Oprah for that crap.

And I'm not talking about the Tx part guys I'm just talking about making sweeping statments in regard to our health when it's not their place. That and asking questions that have NOTHING to do with what they do...like an RT trying to tell me about my weight? Whats with them...are boundaries such a difficult thing...and I'm sure after doing this a long time they do think they know things etc. and maybe they even do, but you know - I have a Dr. or whoever that I have a relationship with etc. I dont want strangers giving me life changing information.

Sorry to hijack your thread didn't mean to go on so much...just ticked me off. I am soo sorry this happened to you and that you had such a stinkin day.

what a terrible feeling. I know what's it like to go in with moderate expectations of a PFT and being really bummed about the results (that just happened at my doc appt yesterday). I haven't had a respiratory therapist out and say that I needed a transplant but I've had MANY occasions where the person doing my PFT makes general comments about how my health is "rapidly declining" and that I've "had such a drop in PFTs it's a wonder I'm not on O2" and scary stuff like that. I've had PFTs that I've been distrought over before and told my cf doc what the therapist said to me...he's always rolled his eyes at it and seemed irritated by the fact that these people are diagnosing people they don't even know. I hope all goes well for you and that you're able to breathe a little easier now that you know you don't have to go in for a tx.
