Hi Everyone,

Jess is doing much better, thankfully. Her O2 levels are improving, and her finger and toe nails are turning back to their regular color. Also, she is no longer dependent on oxygen.

The doctors "think" she contacted a viral infection. Honestly, I don't "think" they have a clue. She was admitted Wednesday and is still only receiving Tobra by IV. Also, today, Saturday, she is receiving her FIRST CPT since being admitted!!!

Her spirits are up, but she really doesn't have a clue what is going on with herself. She doesn't know what her sputum cultured or what her FEV1 is or anything else. She doesn't ask...

I'm not saying she doesn't care, but I think it's more of a denial thing. Like I said, she has always been relatively healthy.

Anyway, she will be in the hospital for another 1.5 weeks. If anyone is interested in sending cards or calling, please contact kayleesgrandma. She has the information. I wish to keep as much private as possible because of the whole "denial" factor. Terri will use her judgment when giving out Jess' information.

Everyone, thank you for your support. It looks like she will be alright. I'm sorry for not posting an update sooner. Her phone isn't working right, and just yesterday my dog was diagnosed with cancer and only has months to live. My '08 isn't off to a good start to say the least.

THANK YOU!!! <img src="i/expressions/heart.gif" border="0">

I'm glad that she is doing better! Thanks for the update.

I'm no doctor, but my guess on the delayed CPT is due to the blood she was coughing up upon arrival. Sometimes they lay off CPT, the vest, certain inhaled meds, etc when we are bleeding so as not to stir things up further & cause more bleeding.
