My daughter is also 1/2 hispanic, her father is from central america. It is rarer but no unusual in the hispanic population. Im sure the cf clinic will push for genetic testing...that is when you will know for sure....by the way....are you a carrier?? were you tested during pregnancy?

My daughter had three sweat tests done that were borderline. However the blood work is what diagnosed the CF. I would keep pushing for the blood work, which sounds like you are on the right path.

She is also half hispanic, my daughter's father is from El Salvador.

My son is 6 months old. His sweat test came back positive, but his symptoms are similar. He has stinky gas, thought he had colic (it was reflux), clammy feet and hands. He is not really sweaty, but he is salty. That is a telling symptom. Kiss your baby's forehead or neck. Do you taste a lot of salt? After about 2 months old, we did. Good luck at the CF center!
