does he have to do albuteral in an updraft? My daughter has always used a puffer, and I understood that they were now recommending that (with a spacer) b/c it cuts down on the chance of contamination of the nebulizer. liquid albuteral always irritated rains throat so we just used the puffer. maybe this will help.

Welcome! I'm so sorry about the diagnosis, but you seem to have a good handle on all his treatments and it sounds like they are being very proactive. I would think they would increase his vest times as he gets used to it.

I have no suggestions, just wanted to send you (((HUGS))) as you navigate the world of CF.

Not sure what updraft means?? I'm a little new. He takes the liquid in the Neb cup. He hasn't seemed to have an issue with the albuterol causing throat irritation. He has been on it for a couple years for "asthma" so we may be lucky in that regard...we are trying to get a new compressor and the PARI LC plus with the bubble fish mask for him to try. hopefully that will cut his treatment times down.

We just finished another round of vest treatment. 20 minutes this round. he sounds very clear today. this afternoon he coughed a little bit and cleared a mucus plug.
last night he coughed up some clear fairly thin mucus. We just try to watch everything because we haven't been around long enough to know what's real important yet.
I don't want to put him in a bubble...just everyone else <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">.

we played a few rounds of better batter baseball this evening...what a good time....sorry, I'm rambling
