I'm not sure about the specific causes here. I too get quite ill if I drink now. I am usually very lethargic, and completely wiped out if I drink now. I am borderline CFRD, maybe that has something to do with it, I don't know? I don't know about your cf progression, but I am fairly progressed. It does make some sense to me that if the disease is progressed, your body is already using a ton of energy just to keep up with your body's needs (nutritional, pulmonary, etc) Maybe the drinking, causing dehydration, is enough to tip our energy balance that our bodies need to compensate to meet the other demands of our body. This may seem out there, but I haven't yet seen any other reasonable cause of why many of us become so weak and tired after drinking. I would like to know any others thoughts though too. I could be completely off track here.

The first thing I thought of was Diabetes or at least it screwing with your sugars even if you dont officially have CFRD. I suppose that little bit could dehydrate you enough to cause havic.

I also dont drink at all anymore. I had one tiny sip of something my sis was drinking at Christmas, but anything more & I feel it for days.

Maybe its age, maybe its CF progression. Hard to say, but its evident at the moment that your body doesnt want or like it even in small quantities!
