N1303K & CFRD

I was reading an article online the other day and it was kind of technical so I'm not really sure I understood it completely but I thought it said that people with n1303k aren't as likely to develop cfrd. Can some people with this mutation please respond as to wether you've developed this condition or not?

The others that I know who have this mutation...DO have diabetes. I am 28 (on Wednesday this week) and do not yet, but am borderline. I can't remember who, but I know there are others on here with that mutation.

I have n1303k as well as delta f508. I sort of have cfrd. When I was given the glucose intolerance test my doc said I had the highest numbers he had ever seen ( high=a glucose problem) but when checking my sugars at home they are in a good range. I do however usually end up on insulin every time I am in the hospital and get crazy high (like 500s) sugars when on prednisone that don't come down very much (i'm only ever on prednisone in the hospital though). I have done insulin a few times at home but most of the time it makes me have low blood sugar. It seems the only time I look like I have cfrd is in the hospital. I like to say I have hrd ( hospital related diabetes). Also this whole thing started when I was 9. As far as n1303k helping to lower risk of cfrd I could see that, maybe that is why my sugars are so crazy since I have the n1303k and the delta f508

The article did say that while n1303k prevents cfrd, df508 encourages it. Maybe thats why some people with this combo are having these borderline results. I dunno though.

Hi! I have N1303K and I am happy to report that I do NOT have CFRD <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> Do you happen to have a link to the article--I'd be curious to read it! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
