thanks for the information,,,,,,,,,,,,I have been doing alot of research since i posted this and there is just so much. I know we will know more after she is born, but i am concerned about the blockage, the last ultrasound showed a small change and they are continuing to monitor that. My daughter has another appt in 2 wks. Question is could they deliver her early if the bowel gets worse?

I might be wrong, but I am ~pretty~ sure that the bowels won't rupture or anyting in utero, they just migth need to be prepared to deal with this upon birth. I think that sometimes they can clear the bowles with like a laxative substance and other times they might need surgery. I am sure LIia (Ratatosk) has a ton of info for you about that.

Is your daughter planning on breastfeeding? At this point, that might be the very best thing she can give her little one should it turn out the baby does indeed have CF (besides good medical care). Check out this site:

I believe it was jenniferp whose child had complications -- baby was in distress... If I find it, I'll post that article in the family section. The important this is to make sure her doctors are continuing to monitor her and the baby in case there are complications (need for surgery to take care of the obstruction).
