Nausea making me crazy!

I didnt think of that. Ej is right, you could be allergic. I had the same thing happen with Levaquin.

Just a thought....have you had your magnesium levels checked lately? some of the antibiotics we take quite reqularly, leech magnesium out of our system - e.g. both Tobramycin and Cipro do, as do many others.
My first time on Tobra I started suffering anxiety, nausea, dizziness, palpitations (for the very first time in my life) and my doctors decided i was suffering from anxiety attacks or side effects of the med, gave me paroxetine as a solution. Guess what the symptoms of Magnesium deficiency are? That's right, anxiety, nausea, palpitations.........
I have since started taking Magnesium supplements - i'm on Tobra at the moment and have been for nearly 3 weeks, and whaddya know - no anxiety, no nausea, no palpitations.........
Blardy doctors don't always think outside the square....just give you another drug to treat what they ASSUME is causing your problems. grrrrr.
BTW - a blood test that shows your Magnesium levels are ok, but on the low side of normal, might still mean you have a deficiency, apparantely the blood can show normalish while the tissues are still depleted. however if your blood shows your Magnesium levels are on the high side of normal you are probably ok and it is the drugs causing your problems.

Thanks for that clue. My doc told me to just bear with it and "forge thru the symptoms". I may just take the magnesium and see what happens myself.

Oh Mare, I hate to see you suffer, especially what you have been through this entire winter and spring. Do you want me to bite your doc? I think I know where he lives!!!! I at least know where his office is...

Anyhow, I too suffered nausea from Zyvoxx along with several other different meds, one really huge offender was Zosyn. I had to premedicate with IV Zofran prior to each dose or I would lose my cookies. I would take all the advice given to heart. With you it could be anything....I am thinking Zyvoxx though. Are your bowels ok? (I know, personal, but bear with me on this one) The reason I ask is because I recently went through a bout of C Diff which also created severe cramping and naseau without terrible diarrhea. Totally atypical. Also your electrolytes, one member suggested Mag, how about your potassium levels as well? You are on Lasix, another offender of depleting both Mag and potassium. Perhaps try to get some Phenergen or Zofran for nausea, especially if it is interferring with eating or drinking. I also drink gingerale without the fizz and eat some crackers. If the nausea is bad, you should not have to suffer and get that doc to help you get some relief. Just give me the word and I will sic him! I bet the doctor would be looking for help instead of "forging thru the symptoms" if the roles were reversed.

I have tried many others over the years but this one is the best! Docs often don't mention it as it is rather expensive and they would rather try other stuff first. I hope you find a solution soon, feeling sick all the time is horrible.

hi angel.
ondanzetron is Zofran. I'm in UK too. I'm on cipro at the moment. I was taking metoclopramide but it was making me really drowsy and restless. Couldn't think at work at all!!. Now i'm taking zofran and i'm fine.
