This was released in NC newspaper the News & Observer. NC has finally put together a website where people that are organ donors can go and register so their wishes will be known and respected.

Yay! Thank you for sharing this. I knew they were going to create an online registry, but I didn't know when it would actually be ready.

This part of the article made me particularly happy:

<i>"Under a 2007 state law, once a person age 18 or older registers as an organ donor, the decision cannot be revoked, except by that individual."</i>

That is excellent. I've always hated the idea that despite the fact that I <i>want</i> to be a donor, a family member could potentially prevent that wish from being carried out. (Not that mine would...I've already warned them if they value any of the china in their cabinets, they'll donate my organs. 'Cuz if they don't, I will haunt them relentlessly...)

But anyway, I'm glad the website is up. I just registered. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
