My daughter is now 4 so things have gotten better. But when she was that young we used to let her play while we did pt. I would follow her around on the floor and do the pats. Doing her treatments while she slept never worked for us either. When she was in the hosptial for a tune up at 15 months the nurses found it hilarious. It may not have been the most effective but it was the best I could do. Good luck just remember it will get easier.

The picture of you chasing her around the floor cracks me up, but I can totally see that happening. I know it will get easier, only if I give in now she'll never grasp that it is a non-negotiable thing, only I have no clue how to enforce it.

I was also going to suggest the mdi's for albuterol and Flovent. And, we also do the chase her around the floor things when she's awake for her PT. For the evening one, though, she's usually asleep. Her daycare teachers report that she sits nicely on thier lap while they do the beating there. Of course, she also eats everything the give her and never, ever tries to climib out of the high chair their, either....LOL. I have found that giving her someting to hold or play with (especially something she's not usually allowed to have) keeps her "still" for a least a little while. She's particularly enamored of an old nebulizer tube.

Anyway, good luck, just know that you are definately not in this alone!!!!!

What works for us is that I sit on the couch (my back at the arm and legs along the length of it).

I hold Eli sitting in my lap and turn on a video while DH does the percussing. We now do it when he is already tired for his nap and before bed so he falls asleep after about 5-10 minutes.

I'm not sure how I will handle it when he had to do it wide awake. Hopefully by that time he will be older, we'll have the vest and I plan to have special vest only toys that he helps pick out and can play with.

It is NOT easy!
