I used to be on nebulized Colistin before i had my transplant. I was on it for years! For as long as i can remember really. I just asked my parents and they think i was on it since i was seven or eight years old. I was on it twice a day, maybe once a day for a the first few years..

Tobi was pretty awful. I had the same problem you describe with my airways closing up... It also gave me chronic laryngitis... They put me on colistin and it was great, and it didn't taste half as bad, but now my lung bugs are resistant to that antibiotic and i've had to switch to inhaled amikacin. I just want to reiterate the fact that you should definitely brush your teeth and rinse out your mouth and throat after doing a treatment (especially if you do inhalers beforehand). Oral yeast infections are a pain.
