You are asking the wrong person here as I dont do things according to protocol.....

I use whatever I use until they leak or it starts taking too much time to dispense. I was using the disposable ones that I brought home from the hospital because I melted the crap out of my sidestream,

BUT I now have new sidestream cups so I am good for while.

Every 6 months here. I was once told by our RT to use a new one for tobi every month 'cuz the tobi can make them sticky and not work as well. But I wash the neb cups in soapy water and boil them for 10 minutes.

When we had issues with our water softener, I also used vinegar to get rid of the hard water deposits prior to washing them. And sometimes I notice if the neb cup pops off the tubing during treatments, that it's usually time to change them out even if 6 months hasn't been up.

This is how I do it too. I usually replace mine every 6 months.

The disposable ones from the hospital should only be used a day or two and since you can't disinfect them per CF germ control protocol (boiling or sanitize in the dishwasher), I also only use them in an emergency and throw them out after a day.

I have a couple of sidestreams that I use ONLY for pulmozyme and I think I've had those suckers for like 10-12 months, but again I wash and boil after every single treatment.
