Need help choosing a clinic

Our health insurance will be changing on November 1. The bad news is that the doctors at our current CF center won't take the new insurance. The good news is that the CF doctors at the other four centers that are within an hour of our home will. (Yes, we are very lucky to have so many centers so close. That is a benefit of living in Los Angeles.)

My seven year old daughter was just diagnosed 2 years ago, so we are still pretty new to this. Do any of you with loads of experience have any suggestions about what I should look for in a new center? I have called some centers and asked for a tour type of appointment before we commit to switching to that center. No one has been willing to take me up on that. I got to interview pediatricians before my kids were born, so I didn't think this request was so unreasonable.

Thanks,

P.S. My daughter wants a place where the doctors are funny, they don't give shots and have cool stuff to play with.

I'm not in CA, so I have no first hand experience. I have heard good things about the Stanford CF center (but not being in CA, I have no idea if that is one of the ones you are considering). I have a friend that uses the Fresno area one and has had a lot of issues.

You should try posting on the adult forum. I know there are many adults in the CA area that may be able to help.
