Need ideas

I’m on the great strides advisory committee for my local CFF chapter. I have a meeting tonight and am looking for ideas to pass along. It’s been noted that most of great strides participants are families that have children with CF. There’re a lot of activities at the walk that are focused on kids, so this makes sense. Does anyone have any ideas on how to increase involvement of adults with CF? Of course, the infection control restrictions make this especially challenging. Ideas don’t have to be focused on great strides event. Any ideas to actively engage and encourage adult involvement in fundraising are welcomed.

We switched our walk to an evening event during the week. Two years ago we had the families and kids walk thru the parks and come back for pizza or sandwiches, while some of the adults wandered to the downtown area, where there happened to be a cruise night (old cars). We did lose some out of town family members, but gained some other people.

We had issues with people being gone on the weekends to lake homes or with activities. Plus there are soooo may other walks during that time of year for other charities -- March of Dimes, Diabetes, Relay for Life... While they're always going to have the CF walk and I have a list of people who participate and donate, we've begun focusing on other events for fundraising instead.

Well, CF interaction at any age is never a good idea. Dangerous really. You can still raise money without the direct involvement of adults with CF. My mom organized a Golf Outing once a year a few times for my personal transplant expenses through COTA. Not going to lie, It's A LOT of work to prepare. You will need people/businesses to donate and be "hole sponsors" and also people/businesses to donate items/gift cards for raffles. If you get enough people that are interested in teams of 4 it can turn out pretty fun.

Crowdfunding is always cool. People can use their social media channels to participate. No in-person necessary!
